Starting from January 1, 2024, China will continue to implement a policy of not imposing additional tariffs on 95 US goods. This decision was issued by the Tariff Commission of the State Council and announced on the website of the Ministry of Finance on December 22. This policy continues the Announcement of the Tariff Commission of the State Council on the Eleventh Extension List of Goods Subject to Additional Tariffs on the United States (Announcement No. 6 of the Tariff Commission in 2023), and the original exclusion period will expire on December 31, 2023.
The extended exclusion measures will last until July 31, 2024. During this period, the 95 US goods involved will not be affected by the additional tariffs imposed by China in response to the US 301 measures. This decision reflects Chinas flexibility in trade policies and its emphasis on the stability of international economic and trade relations.
This move not only helps to ease Sino - US trade frictions, but may also provide more room for cooperation and dialogue between the two sides, promoting the stable development of bilateral trade relations. For related industries, this policy will reduce operating costs, enhance market competitiveness, and is of great significance for maintaining the stability of the supply chain and promoting economic recovery.
